It is super sad but it has a nice end to it. I liked the part where she's wearing his leather coat in the bar and he follows her around singing to her...so cute. Oh and of course, Gerard's strip-tease in the clover boxers, OMG!

I haven't seen the movie, but I read the book and it was amazing. The girl who wrote the book is a really talented author. Cecelia Ahern, I think....Very good.
